The new collection by a young Italian brand Vivetta was presented at Milan Fashion Week.
Vivetta is a mix of vintage and irony. Hands-collars, cats and swans, interesting patterns and bright colors. A bit of Schiaparelli but with a sweeter taste. Who is she, Vivetta?
Vivetta Ponti, or Vivi is an Italian girl from Assisi. She appeared at the Milan Fashion Week in February 2015 after the king of Italian fashion scene had chosen her.
Graduated from Polimoda in Florence, she worked at Daniele Alessandri and Roberto Cavalli. She won the contest “Who’s Next” in Paris in 2008 and founded her own name brand in 2009 and presented a collection for the first time at fashion week in Zurich in 2014.
In Vivetta’s garments clear lines contrast with unexpected details. Embroideries and patterns with nostalgic elements combine with contemporary silhouettes, creating romantic and at the same time ironic images. Here the traditional made in Italy meets unflinching modern design. Her collections conquered the half of the world, they are available in such significant places as at Collette in Paris, 10 Corso Como in Milan, Harvey Nickols in London.
Vivetta finds inspiration in many sources: poetry, dolls, antiques, fifties furniture, and sixties and seventies tapestries, to name but a few.
She loves cats (and all animals, for that matter), the fifties, the sixties, Surrealism, the Nouvelle Vague, Anna Karina, Mia Farrow, Catherine Deneuve, Barbara Steele, sixties Italian horror movies, sixties and seventies experimental animation movies, collects old toys, dolls and vintage children’s books.
That is VIVETTA’s world.
